WELCOME TO DELHI

We welcome you at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, check in to the hotel and have a rest. Depending on the time of arrival we can go for a half day city sightseeing to see Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, Red Fort, President House, India Gate for example.

DELHI - CHAMBAL

After early breakfast drive to Chambal (4hr, 260km) than check-in in to the hotel after lunch go for evening boat ride at Chambal River which is one of the cleanest river in India. The Chambal River is considered pollution free and including two species of crocodiles – the Mugger and the Gharial. Gangetic River Dolphins, Indian Skimmers, Black-bellied Terns, Great Thick-knee, Eurasian Spoonbill, Bar-headed & Greylag Geese, Sarus Cranes and Black-necked Storks, and many others like eight species of freshwater turtles, smooth-coated others, etc. can be seen.

CHAMBAL - AGRA

After morning boat ride we will come back to the hotel for a fresh up. Continue to Agra (65 km, 1 hr drive). Check in to the hotel. After lunch going to visit one the most beautiful wonder of the world the Taj Mahal. Spend time there till sunset then come back to the hotel.

Taj Mahal is located in the historical city of Agra. Called as the “Symbol of Love”, it was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial for his third wife Mumtaz Mahal. Every year visitors numbering more than the entire population of Agra pass through the magnificent gates to catch a glimpse of this breathtaking monument. Only a few leave disappointed. Shah Jahan said about the Taj that it made “The sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes”.

AGRA - BHARATPUR

Today we will visit again the Taj Mahal for sunrise photography. Then we will come back to the hotel for breakfast. After a visit to the beautiful Agra fort we drive to Bharatpur via Fatehpur Sikri (55 km, 1 hr drive). Check in into the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day or visit the Lohagarh Fort optional.

Lohagarh Fort (Iron Fort) is situated at Bharatpur city. It was constructed by Bharatpur Hindu Rulers. Maharaja Surajmal used all his power and wealth to good cause and built numerous forts and palaces across his kingdom. One of them is being the Lohagarh Fort.

BHARATPUR - RANTHAMBORE NATIONAL PARK

After Breakfast go to the half day birding at Keoladeo National Park with local bird guide by bicycle or rickshaw. The National Park protects Bharatpur from frequent floods, provides grazing grounds for village cattle.

The 29 km2 (11 sq mi) park is locally known as Ghana, and is a mosaic of dry grasslands, woodland, swamps and wetlands. These diverse habitats are home to 366 bird species, 379 floral species, 50 species of fish, 13 species of snakes, 5 species of lizards, 7 amphibian species, 7 turtle species and a variety of other invertebrates. Every year thousands of migratory waterfowl visit the park for wintering and breeding. The National Park is one of the richest bird areas in the world and is known for nesting of resident birds and visiting migratory birds including water birds.

After lunch continue to Ranthambore National Park (200 km, 5 hr drive).

RANTHAMBORE NATIONAL PARK

We will take morning and afternoon Jeep Safaris into Ranthambore National Park to look for Royal Bengal Tiger. Other mammal species that we might encounter are Leopard, Sloth Bear, Wild Boar, Sambar Deer, Spotted Deer, Ruddy Mongoose, Indian Grey Mongoose, Jungle Cat, Striped Hyena, Golden Jackal, etc.Birds we will be looking for include Painted Spurfowl, Indian Scops-Owl, White-naped Woodpecker, Small Minivet, Indian Vulture, Rufous Tree-Pie, and Yellow-crowned Woodpecker.

RANTHAMBORE NATIONAL PARK

We will take morning and afternoon Jeep Safaris into Ranthambore National Park again to look for Royal Bengal Tiger. Other mammal species that we might encounter are Caracal, Indian Gazelle, Indian Monitor Lizard, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Wild Boar, Sambar Deer, Spotted Deer, Jungle Cat, and Striped Hyena. Birds we will be looking for include Rock Bush-Quail, Barred Buttonquail, Jungle Bush-Quail, Mottled Wood-Owl, Dusky Eagle-Owl, Red-headed Vulture, Brown Crake, White-naped Woodpecker, Small Minivet, Indian Vulture, Rufous Treepie, and Yellow-crowned Woodpecker.

RANTHAMBORE NATIONAL PARK - JAIPUR

We will take morning Jeep Safaris into Ranthambore National Park again to look for Royal Bengal Tiger. Other mammal species that we might encounter are Sambar Deer, Spotted Deer, Ruddy Mongoose, Indian Grey Mongoose, Jungle Cat, Striped Hyena, Indian Hare, and many more. Birds we will be looking for include Brown Fish-Owl, Painted Sandgrouse, White-bellied Minivet, Savanna Nightjar, Stork-billed Kingfisher, Black Stork, and many more.

Later we will continue to Jaipur.

JAIPUR SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast visit to Astronomical Observatory, City Palace and museum.

City Palace was established at the same times as the city of Jaipur by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, who moved his court to Jaipur from Amber in 1727. Jaipur in the present day is the capital of the State Of Rajasthan. Until 1949 the City Palace was The Ceremonial and Administrative Seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur. The place was also the location of religious and cultural events as well as a patron of arts, commerce, and industry.

Later visit the Amber Fort.

Amber originally was the capital of the state before Jaipur. It is an old fort, built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh. The Amber Fort was built in sandstone and marble. The Maotha Lake adds a certain charm to the entire fort.

On the way back from the fort we stop on road at Jal Mahal Man Sagar Lake before we continue to visit the local bazaar of Jaipur. Here you can see block printings, camel wool, and handmade carpets. Jaipur is also famous for where the gem stones studded with very slim foil of gold and silver.
